Abello IP strengthens its network in the South West of France with the opening of a new office in Toulouse

6 February 2025

Abello IP Firm, a law firm specialized in intellectual property law, is proud to announce that its subsidiary Abello Grand Sud has opened a new office in Toulouse, headed by Nicolas Tastayre, a French and European patent attorney.

This move strengthens the Abello Group’s long-established presence in the region, which is underpinned by the career of Bertrand Loyer, co-founder of the firm, who joined the Toulouse Bar in 2003 after an initial career as a French patent attorney.

“I am honored to take on this responsibility, and proud to uphold the values of excellence that are the strength of Abello IP Firm. Toulouse is the European capital of aeronautics and aerospace, and a hub of innovation in biotechnology and information technology. This new office reflects our commitment to offering local support and tailored expertise to local companies,” says Nicolas Tastayre.”

This expansion follows on from the opening of an office in Bordeaux in 2023, headed by Julien Astier, partner at Abello Grand Sud. This move has consolidated the firm’s presence with its long-standing client base in the agricultural machinery and wine-growing sectors, while continuing its development in the area of designations of origin and geographical indications.

Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie are two very active regions in terms of innovation and patenting. The opening of this second site in the South-West reflects our desire to support this dynamic. Nicolas was a natural choice, thanks to the qualities he embodies as a former top-level sportsman: discipline, team spirit and the ability to rise to challenges with resilience. These assets, combined with his experience within the firm, make him the ideal person to take on this strategic role”, says Julien Astier, partner and head of the Bordeaux office.
