Abello IP continues to grow with the co-option of Mathilde Junagade as partner

Abello IP Firm, a law firm specialized in intellectual property law, is pleased to announce the partnership of Mathilde Junagade. This renowned expert in trademark and design law is also taking over as head of the department dedicated to this field. Her appointment coincides with the firm’s ambition to strengthen its leadership in the sector.

With over 25 years’ experience, Mathilde began her career in industry before joining the Institut national de la propriété industrielle (INPI) for almost 20 years. There, she held a number of positions of responsibility within the Legal and International Department, where she headed up the European and International Affairs Unit. Since 2020, she has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Association des Praticiens du Droit des Marques et des Modèles (APRAM), where she is a regular speaker and actively participates in various working groups.

During her five years at Abello, Mathilde has acquired cross-disciplinary expertise, drawing on her litigation practice as a lawyer to refine strategies for protecting trademarks and designs. Her in-depth knowledge of office practices enables her to exploit the full potential of new administrative procedures and successfully manage complex cases involving major French and international brands.

The co-option of Mathilde Junagade is part of a strategic phase of transformation for the firm, which is accelerating its development under the impetus of the co-management of Michel Abello and Marie Liens, partner and head of the Litigation Department, who was appointed co-manager in July 2024. This decision reinforces Abello’s ambition to continue its growth while asserting its leadership in intellectual property law, thanks to strengthened expertise and agile governance.

“I am honored by these co-option and appointment, and proud to share the firm’s values of client focus, expertise and cross-functionality. At Abello, the synergy of talents, teamwork, creativity and technical excellence enable us to design solid and innovative strategies’, says Mathilde Junagade.

“We are delighted that Mathilde is joining us as a partner. Mathilde has always demonstrated a strong commitment to the firm and recognized expertise, which are essential assets for us. Her integration as a partner marks a further step in our development and reaffirms our commitment to providing excellent legal services’, adds Marie Liens, partner and co-managing partner of the firm.

Abello IP strengthens its network in the South West of France with the opening of a new office in Toulouse

Abello IP Firm, a law firm specialized in intellectual property law, is proud to announce that its subsidiary Abello Grand Sud has opened a new office in Toulouse, headed by Nicolas Tastayre, a French and European patent attorney.

This move strengthens the Abello Group’s long-established presence in the region, which is underpinned by the career of Bertrand Loyer, co-founder of the firm, who joined the Toulouse Bar in 2003 after an initial career as a French patent attorney.

“I am honored to take on this responsibility, and proud to uphold the values of excellence that are the strength of Abello IP Firm. Toulouse is the European capital of aeronautics and aerospace, and a hub of innovation in biotechnology and information technology. This new office reflects our commitment to offering local support and tailored expertise to local companies,” says Nicolas Tastayre.”

This expansion follows on from the opening of an office in Bordeaux in 2023, headed by Julien Astier, partner at Abello Grand Sud. This move has consolidated the firm’s presence with its long-standing client base in the agricultural machinery and wine-growing sectors, while continuing its development in the area of designations of origin and geographical indications.

Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Occitanie are two very active regions in terms of innovation and patenting. The opening of this second site in the South-West reflects our desire to support this dynamic. Nicolas was a natural choice, thanks to the qualities he embodies as a former top-level sportsman: discipline, team spirit and the ability to rise to challenges with resilience. These assets, combined with his experience within the firm, make him the ideal person to take on this strategic role”, says Julien Astier, partner and head of the Bordeaux office.
