Cathy BUGOT

European Patent Attorney - Representative before the UPC cathy.bugot@abello-ip.com

Cathy BUGOT previously worked for nine years as a patent engineer and then as a European patent attorney at an intellectual property consultancy. Her main responsibilities included drafting patents and managing grant procedures with the European Patent Office (EPO), the French National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) and numerous foreign patent offices, across a range of technical fields (mechanics, physics, physics for biology, including neuroscience, microfluidics, physical chemistry, computer-implemented processes, etc.).

She joined the Patent Department of Abello in 2026.

Educational training

Cathy Bugot has a double major in science and law::

  • Degree in Electronics and Optics from the École Polytechnique of the University of Orléans (Polytech Orléans, 2012)
  • Masters in Energy, Environment and Space from the University of Orléans (2012)
  • PhD in Materials Physics and Chemistry from Pierre and Marie Curie University (EDF/IPVF, 2015)
  • Graduate of the Centre for International Studies in Industrial Property – Strasbourg, specialising in patents (2020)
  • French
