Clément DEVIERS previously worked for 7 years as a patent engineer, then as a European patent attorney, in various French industrial property firms and in an industrial company.

His main responsibilities were drafting patents and monitoring grant procedures before the European Patent Office (EPO), the Institut National de la Propriété Industrielle (INPI) and various offices abroad (US, CN, JP, IN, UK,…), in a variety of technical fields, in mechanics and information technology (automotive parts and systems, aeronautical turbomachinery, agricultural machinery, remote manipulators for the nuclear industry, pharmaceutical packaging, polymer and metal fasteners, computer-implemented inventions, etc.).

He qualified as a professional representative before the EPO in 2017.

He joined Abello’s Patent Department in 2023.

Educational training

Clément has a double major in Science and Law:

  • French-German double Master’s degree in Engineering at the EPF, Sceaux, France, and the Munich University of Applied Sciences, production and automation (EPF & FHM, 2006)
  • Graduate of the Master of Laws in Intellectual Property and Competition Law, Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC, 2009)
  • Graduate of the Center for International Intellectual Property Studies in Strasbourg in patents (CEIPI, 2015)
  • Patent Litigator qualification: Industrial Property Course – Patents, Politecnico di Milano, Italy (2023)
