Bertrand LOYER is an engineer of Ecole de l’Air.
He was a fighter pilote for 8 years in the Air Force (33rd fighter-reconnaissance squadron)
He entered the LOYER Firm (patent attorneys) in 1959 and became managing partner from 1975 to 2002 upon which date he left the Firm.
Lawyer since 1979, as former legal advisor, he was admitted to the Toulouse Bar in 2003.
He is a member of the main specialised professional bodies in Intellectual Property (UNION, AIPPI, EPI).

He is a foreign member of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA). He was a member of the American Bar Association from 1970 to 1990 and member of the USTA and then of the INTA until 2002.
He developed specific skills in the patenting of agricultural equipment.

Bertrand Loyer has a double major in science and law:

  • Diplômé du Centre d’Etudes Internationales de la Propriété Industrielle – Strasbourg (1995)

He also has a teaching activity:

  • Professeur contractuel chargé des cours de Droit à l’Ecole Centrale Paris depuis 1996
  • Professeur en droit comparé Français, Européen et Chinois à Centrale Pékin, Université de Beihang – Chine – depuis 2008
  • Enseignement de cas pratiques de brevets au CEIPI à Strasbourg depuis 1999
  • Enseignement au Centre Paul Roubier à Lyon de 2003 à 2007
  • Formateur en procédure civile à l’EFB depuis 2013
  • Formateur au RPVA pour le Barreau de Paris depuis 2012
  • Bertrand LOYER lived 2 years in the United States where he worked as a pilot for the US Air Force and thus speaks and writes fluent English.
